I STARTED A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

Updated: Jul 13

It's crazy because before you start creating content, be it videos, Instagram content, podcasts, you really don't realise how much TIME certain things take and the attention to detail that is required.

Sooooo...I finally started my YouTube channel!

I've been wanting to do videos on YouTube since I fell in love with make-up videos on there around 10 years ago, but I never had the confidence to film myself or be on camera.

It's been a long road and a lot of psyching myself up, but it has lead to me do some amazing things such as presenting, hosting events and now YouTube! This may seem like a small achievement to some, but to me it means a hell of a lot.

The personal growth and levelling up that I've done mentally over the last year has opened so many doors for me and although it's been hard, it's been a beautiful struggle!

Food...duh!

For my first video, would you have expected anything other than food? Back in January, KFC released their highly anticipated 'vegan burger' and being the food junkie that I am, I had to go and make sure I got my mitts on it and tried it for myself!

I wasn't completely sure what type of videos I wanted to make - but I knew I wanted to create content that came naturally to me and that I was passionate about.

This video was a vlog style, which I really enjoyed filming. I plan to do more vlog style videos (when the world opens back up again) and definitely some more food vlogs!

A labour of love

It's crazy because before you start creating content, be it videos, Instagram content, podcasts, you really don't realise how much TIME certain things take and the attention to detail that is required.

Being a content creator takes a lot of self-discipline, time, energy, resources and money. A lot of times when you invest into these passion projects and you don't get that instant gratification from other people, or become a huge success straight away, it will leave you feeling a little empty or disheartened.

As a creative, so much of your heart and energy goes into what you do, it's a true labour of love. You become very attached to the things you've produced because you worked so hard on it. At the start you're a one man band doing all the work by yourself, trying to multi-task and be everything all at once.

It's a lot, but it's one of those things that is SO rewarding if you stick at it.

Go for it!

I urge anyone who's thinking about taking on that extra side hustle or starting that passion project but has been too scared to fail or too worried about what people think - JUST START! I promise you won't regret it.

Don't worry about the how, or the why or obsess over what could come of it. If it makes you feel happy while you create it, that's reason enough.

Things formed with love and for love will always blossom.

Love,
